    2. My gr gr grandfather was a lawyer in Belfast, ME coming from NH in 1812. Then my gr grandfather, Wm C, was bn there. Wm C and Evaline Pillsbury White left for WI after 1840 for they were in Bloomingdale, WI (changed to OMro in 1853) on the 1850 and 1860 census. They moved to MO in 1867. I never thought that the White name would be as common as Smith or Jones but believe me it does seem to be. McKnights are in my family too. The southern McKnights and northern McKnights all have same names. It is confusing!!! Who knows? Maybe our families will connect somewhere. We have to remember that ME, Vermont, and some of the other states were just territories included in York, etc. at one time. That really makes it difficult. If one is married in MA, they could later be living in another state in the same place. They did move around too. Elnora
