Need Help, advice, etc. Private mail reply to RavenSeer1@aol.com Around 1830s, in LINCOLN CO, TN- I have a MIDAS WHITE, "DOC" who was raised by the Cherokees, leaves the state and goes to Arkansas, then MO- Steelsville area, Crawford Co (on the 1850 census for this area). His daughter is married to NORTON, possibly John and they have at least 2 children, sons - John (B. about 1830) and William. Doc WHITE had two sons who were considered to be outlaws and supposedly went to TEXAS with their father Doc and the daughter and her family all move to Texas as well - around 1870? 1880? - FORT WORTH, then VICTORIA, Texas area. Eventually around 1900 to 1910 some of the family - John Norton II, wife, and at least one daughter leave Texas to coastal Louisiana. Doc, sons, other Nortons stay in Texas. It has been told that "Doc" went to medical school and did a lot of herbal remedies. His great granddaughter talks about a skeleton in one of the rooms of the house that scared her. One more thing - John Norton Jr. (grandson of Doc White) and John's wife Priscilla Johnson have some "unusual" names for their children: Miligin, Clara, Annie Felice, Pluliciti (Latin?), Jack (Stonewall), Ehad (had a son Zebbie), Ruthair, Amzi, Thadias, Agatha, Victorina, Alice NORTON That's it, I don't have any other information, and I am hoping somebody can shed light on this, anything.
