Hello; This is my first letter to this list, unless I previously subscribed and unsubscribed in a frenzy of mail clutter! I would appreciate all consideration and help on my big family mystery -- my great-great grandmother, Sarah Adessa WHITE. Sarah was, according to various records, born about 1830 in either North or South Carolina. I have no clue regarding her parents. The only oddity is the middle name, Adessa, which was passed on to at least two other family members later. In the 1850 KY census, there was a William WHITE, age 19, no relationship given; living with Sarah and her family. She married first, Charles CLEAVER (or CLEVER) in Campbell County, KY about 1847 or 48. They had at least two children. By 1855, she was remarried to Hiram POTTS, still in Newport, KY and they had several more children together. I have much info on the POTTS family from that time forward, but have never been able to connect Sarah Adessa to any WHITE family line. Sarah died in 1900 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Any help or input will be much appreciated. Ann Bergelt Florida
