    3. Hi: I wonder if there's a connection to my Stephen WHITE among your Stephen Sr.'s children? My gggrandfather Stephen WHITE claimed NC as his birthplace, but there are so few Stephens among all the WHITES that I think it's worth checking. My Stephen would have been in his early 40s in 1850--maybe Sr. was really active?? Or maybe this is even a grandson. My Stephen m Nancy PARKINSON, who was b in TN, had a son, James,my ggrandfather, b 1846 in Sangamon County, IL, as well as several older children; by 1850 he was in Lafayette County, WI, and we have no trace of him after that. An old note from a family member lists Stephen's first name as Stephenson, but all other records have him as Stephen. Let me know if you see any connection--glad to share what I have.
