John WHITE is probably one of the most common names to try to find on a list like this, but I would like to find out when and where he was born. This particular John WHITE was probably born in Youngstown, Ohio, or somewhere close to it in 1819. His parents were William WHITE and Eleanor FARRELL. His family moved to Mercer County, Pennsylvania, where he married Sarah SCRIVEN about 1850. I would like to find that date and place as well as his birth. I am aware of 7 children: William, David, Mary, Lora (Laura), Alice, Clara, and Miles. Many died as infants, and some died before ever marrying. Alice is believed to have been married to a J. C. CHESS. John died 21 Aug 1893, probably in Sandy Creek, Mercer, Pennsylvania, and he is buried in the Sheakleyville, PA, cemetery. Sarah died in Sandy Creek on 25 Jul 1917 and is buried beside her husband. If anyone has information on John's birth and/or marriage, please contact me off-list. Ed Scriven
