Hey, Jean McCloy, do you have the names of the sons of Richard White, that may have gone to Tn? My great grandfather, Tapley White, and his father, also named, Tapley, reportedly came from Tn, to Union, or Alexander Co., IL.. I found one Tapley on the 1820 IL census, and believe the younger Tapley was born in IL... I did find in the Alexander Co. book, that Tapley (No. 1) was the first Justice of Peace in that county.. Any information will be greatly appreciated....Thanks... Pat Hargis Perry
Is any one on this list researching Whites who settled in Nova Scotia. I am researching the decendents of David White who settled in Yarmouth Co. If your out there i'd like to hear from you Lucille
Unfortunately I do not have any further inforamtion on Calvin Otis or on his cihldren beyond their connection to my Alverson Line and their descendents. Ancestors and siblings has proven to be my brick wall on this one.

Suz, If this is your family and you are interested in following up you could contact the funeral home that handled the arrangements. Most of them in Durant will send you the information contained in the file. You would probably have to contact the people who operate the cemetery. It would probably be someone at the city offices. I am not sure who. Or I will list the funeral homes in Durant and you could contact all of them by mail. Murray Funeral Home 801 W. Main Durant, OK Dalton Holmes Funeral Home 223 N. 3rd Ave Durant OK 74701 Coffey Funeral Home 121 N. 5th Durant OK 74701 Chances are these are the funeral homes that handled the arrangements for the dates of your family members. If not, you could always go to the city offices. Here is the information you will need to contact: Highland Cemetery Records and Lot Sales 201 N 3rd Durant OK 74701. Hope this helps some. Mary
Suz, I don't know if this is the same person as your William Young White, but there is also a William T. White buried in Highland Cemetery, Durant Ok Bryan Co. with b. August 1, 1887 d. Feb 15, 1947. However he is buried in a different plot 1586W with a Clara B. White b. Nov 5, 1891 d. Jan 20, 1981. Thought this may help. I have only one C. Lee White so I don't know which one it would be. Maybe you can determine. Mary

Hello Suz.......could you tell me if you have any tie in of Dodson's with your White's in GA? I'm looking for a White (possibly John) who married a Dodson/Collins/Cullins (she was married before) in GA. They had two children, Charles A. White and Sarah Jane White. They were born around the 1850's. I don't have much information, as you can see, on them. Thems be family!! Weeeha. Thank you SOOOO much. Where did you find out about them? I might be able to follow up and go back further. Does it say anything about their folks? (Sorry to sound so excited. Been on the web for quite a while, able to find other surenames, but not White. This is a first.) Thanks again, Suz
Hi Darelene, I've only been able to go back as far as Cyrus and Ellsworth, not even their parents or other siblings. Checked some of the census and other registries, but have had no luck. The left and went towards Oklahoma. I've no idea when they arrived, but Cyrus married Margaret Lizzie Sheppard (I've heard she was knows as Marjory Clarissa Shepphard as well), they had Charley Lee White ,Cyrus Lee White, Howard White and William Young White. I've no idea where and when on most of them, but I believe they were born in Oklahoma. Suz

Does anyone have any information on the famous circus clown William A. DONOVAN who is buried in Brooklyn NY? I think that he died sometime in the late 1850's. I believe that William A. DONOVAN's widow married a Charles WHITE. Mrs. Charles WHITE also worked for the circus. William A. DONOVAN's son William A. WHITE married the bearded lady in 1895. William A. WHITE may have been married to another woman named Leona (from Illinois) prior to the bearded lady. William died in England about 1899. The orphaned children of William A. WHITE and Leona would have been Charles Joseph WHITE b. abt 1886 Mt. Pleasant TX and Jeanette Leona WHITE. These children were taken in by Charles and Polly RIFFLE in Lena Wisconsin. They appear there in the 1900 census. Linda White
Sue, I don't know if you have this information or not but I thought that I would send it to you. Buried in Highland Cemetery, Durant OK Bryan Co are: Cyrus W. White b. April 20, 1858 d. July 19, 1907 These two people are buried in the same plot 303 W. There are other White's buried in this cemetery. If you are looking for others that are not listed above, if you will send their names I will look in the Cemetery Book to see if they are listed. Mary
I have a bunch of Nancy's but no entry for Alexander Graves...Will give you what I have and if you think there is any possiblility, we'll look for more...If you can find a census (1850 would have been good if she had not died)....look at all the Whites in the census...note which are living close together by household numbers, and then look at the birthplace of husband or wife, their mother and father's birthplace....It makes it easier to get them "lumped" into families. Another thing is that if the criteria fits, and parent father was born in Va, they are probably from the Richard White,(bunch of sons who went to Tn and NC then down to Ala and Ms) who "started out" (thats as far as most of us have traced them) in Loudoun Co, Va. The ones with SC connotations are a different line, although I do believe we will eventually find they were probably still cousins farther back. Anyway, here are the Nancy's: Nancy White who married on Nov 4, 1847 in Hawkins Co, Tn to James Kirkpatrick. She was dtr of George White, Sr and Mary Hoffmeister. Her brothers George and Jamison born 1815 and 1817. (Era would be right for yours except mar to wrong name). Nathaniel White, Sr, born 1782 Va died 1834 in McMinn Co, Tn had a Nancy after their marriage date of Feb 25, 1807, in Greene Co, Tn Another Nancy born Oct 22, 1820 Hawkins Co, Tn and who died befo Apr 24, 1869, in Clay Co, Ill was mar to John Beal and probably not yours She was dtr of Wm M White Samuel White, Sr and Sarah Nixon White had a Nancy born Apr 6, 1782 in Loudoun Co, Va, but she mar a Nicholas Long. She died abt 1846 . Father died in Hamblen Co, Tn. Benjamin White and Mary had a Nancy born Sep 13, 1790 who mar Eli Tavenner and died in Clark Co, Ohio The ONLY Frances that I have was dtr of Wm White (he was born 1833 in Hawkins Co, Tn and mar to Mary Jane Shepherd...Frances born abt 1850. Several more Nancy's as it was a very popular name, but the time frame does not seem to fit. Sorry I can't help more. (You do realize now mine are the Loudoun Co lines).
