I have an Isaac mentioned in the Will Abstract of John White that I got from the book "American Revolutionary Soldiers of Franklin County Pennsylvania". John White was of Lurgan Twp. He was a Farmer & Cordwinder & served as a Private under Capt. Chas Maclay. Sons names were; James, John, Johnston, Charles M., Isaac & Edward. Daughter; Nancy Charlton; Grandaughters; (by son Edward) Nancy, & Eliza, (by son James) Jane. Grandsons; (by son Isaac) Samuel Eaton White, John Andrew White, & James Morrison White. The book gives the source for the info as Pennsylvania Archives, Series 5, Volume 6, pgs. 36, 40, 149, 151, 406, & 435. The pages that I copied from this book also contain; another John White (mentions Antietam Creek & Fort Ligonier), Joseph White of Lancaster, & William White (enlisted in Cumberland Co. no marriage mentioned), I hope this helps somebody! 1. [WHITE] Sarah Adessa WHITE
    2. Hello; This is my first letter to this list, unless I previously subscribed and unsubscribed in a frenzy of mail clutter! I would appreciate all consideration and help on my big family mystery -- my great-great grandmother, Sarah Adessa WHITE. Sarah was, according to various records, born about 1830 in either North or South Carolina. I have no clue regarding her parents. The only oddity is the middle name, Adessa, which was passed on to at least two other family members later. In the 1850 KY census, there was a William WHITE, age 19, no relationship given; living with Sarah and her family. She married first, Charles CLEAVER (or CLEVER) in Campbell County, KY about 1847 or 48. They had at least two children. By 1855, she was remarried to Hiram POTTS, still in Newport, KY and they had several more children together. I have much info on the POTTS family from that time forward, but have never been able to connect Sarah Adessa to any WHITE family line. Sarah died in 1900 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Any help or input will be much appreciated. Ann Bergelt Florida

    3. Well, I went and did what I've been asking everybody not to do - send a nonsense, off-topic email to the List. Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea culpa. My apologies to everyone. Back to genealogy. Does anyone have any information on a WHITE family that immigrated into New England from England and then migrated to VA? Specifically, I'm looking for: WHITE, Reverend Edward, m. Catherine who may have been a widow. See below for a short bio and list of children. ******************************************** According to papers found in the possession of James Ambrose White, Sr., and negative photostatic prints of the White Family Bible on file with the Virginia State Library Archives (Acc. 22705), William White married Catherine (? name difficult to read). Although family papers indicated that William White was a Methodist minister who moved to Virginia from New England and married a widow, there is no data available at this time to support where he came from or indicate that Catherine was a widow. From the Bible records, there were four issue: Bette - b. 16 Jun 1801 Ambrose - b. 24 Mar 1803 Catherine - b. 28 Mar 1805 Judith - b. 23 Mar 1809 Thanks for checking -- -- Happy Hunting!! -- Paul Houston, TX, USA Researching: VA - WHITE,LIPSCOMB,HILL,JOHNSON,SAUNDERS,TALBOT,TATE,EVANS NC - SMITH, BOSWELL, RHODES, CAPEHART,MORRIS,MARSHE, BRITT,SHAW View my American Ancestry at: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~paulrsmith Looking for another income stream?
