I tried to get in touch with as many of you as I possibly could. I called! Susan Tandy e-mailed and Jean Scholm, my next door neighbor was going to e-mail the remaining people but she was able to get me manually back on line. Now I must go on to my internet through the back door so to speak Now I have to go to MY COMPUTER Click on DIAL UP NETWORKING Click on your normal connector, in my case it is HTC Click on CONNECT Click on the icon THE ENVELOP "OUTLOOK EXPRESS: At least I am connecting somehow. Does anyone out there know how to talk me through getting this so that it will automatically connect again? I am so very sorry for any trouble I caused anyone. When you clicked on this attachement thing, it automatically sent the virus on to everyone in my address book. The person who sent it to me was in the same boat. Thank you so much to everyone who helped me out. Love, Marjorie

    3. Hello Fellow Searchers, I posted this some time ago but thought I would give it another try. I really, really could use some help finding more information on George White and his (and my) ancestors. Here goes: George White, born Aug 1817 in eastern Tennessee, where he met and married Cathrine Bachman, born 1823, in Aug 1847. They lived in Sullivan or Washington County and had the following children: Jacob, born 1842 Elizabeth, born 1845 Martha, born 1847 Jonathan, born 1849 Rebecca, born 1852 William, born 1854 Monroe, born 1856 Hannah Liza, born 1859 Sometime in the 1850's the family moved to Adair County MO where Cathrine died in Sept 1860 and was laid to rest in the Morelock Cemetary. George remarried in 1863 to a Sarah Scobee who was from the local area. They had the following children: Polly Cathrine, born 1864 James David Samuel, born 1865 George Washington, born 1868 John Wesley, born 1870 Daniel Franklin (my grandfather), born 1873 Nancy Ann, born 1875 Sarah Mandy, born 1880 They traveled between MO and TN at least once in the 1870's since my grandfather, Daniel Franklin was born in TN. However, they finally ended up in MO Sarah lived till 1901 when she was laid to rest in the Morelock Cemetary, Adair County, MO George died in 1896 and was also buried in the Morelock Cemetary, Adair County, MO. That's all I know at this point. I've not been able to locate anything on any of the family members except my grandfather, all the rest are lost to me. I sincerely hope and pray someone (anyone) can give me some more information on any of the family members so I can know them better. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

White I have found another clue to the identity of my greatgrandfather Elmer Ellsworth White. In a closet I found a cane with this inscribed on the gold colored knob of it: Dr. A.B. White from Mrs. J. L. Adams 1884. The family story of this cane is that it belonged to the guardian of Elmer Ellsworth White. Nothing else is known about this guardian including when and where he became Elmer's guardian (if that is true). The Only things I know about my Elmer Ellsworth White is that his son's affidavit of birth indicates he was born in 1866 in Mansfield Ohio, he was married 03 Jul 1892 in Moscow Idaho to Minnie Louise Cromwell though residences of both listed as Colfax, Wa. Elmer died in Portland Or. 1905 and is buried in Lonefir Cemetary in Portland Or. The state of Or. can't find his death certificate and his marr. cert. does not list parents. Currently working on getting ahold of his birth records but just a year and not a specific date makes it almost impossible. The other obvious question that also pops up is that was he born with a different last name and then took on his guardian's name? Would appreciate any suggestions or any information on A.B. White (Dr.) that anyone might have. Thank you Ellen White

For example: 'Joe White in KS- 1800's'. See this would actually tell the rest of us about whom your looking for. Thanks! Shawn

    3. Hello All I'm new to this list, and would like to ask your help with a brick wall of some thirty years standing! My GGG grandfather Archibald Askin "Archie" WHITE was born 16 August 1828, and died 17 September 1906 (Texas). Parents are unknown. I suspect he was born in Mississippi, but cannot say with certainty. In 1900, Archie executed a Confederate Soldier's Pension Application (subsequently approved) at Farmer's Branch, Dallas County, Texas. He claimed he had served "about 12 months" in "Company F, 8th Mississippi." Infantry or Cavalry not stated. Archie's wife was Mary A. BUFORD. She died 11 June 1901. They had one known child - daughter Anna Buford WHITE, born Texas 1870, died Texas 1890 after having married Thomas Joe DOBBS and having borne him a daughter, Minnie. I have photographs of all of these folks but have never discovered anything more about them. Would really like learn about Archie WHITE's (Mississippi?) antecedents. Thanks for reading and for any help-- and good luck in your own searches! Steve Hodson
