Hello, I am still searching for Alabama (WHITE) Quinton, she was born in Alabama it states so on the Washington County, AR 1850 Federal Census - West Fork Township 23 21 21 QUINTON Alabama 24 F AL OK the question is when I type in the search engines I get 90 million different things including the k.k.k stuff. The Alabama WHITE that is listed in the Ancestry.com is not mine. How do I search for her not knowing whose family, she is from. The only information that I have for sure after talking to my Aunt is that she was Indian, that they were not signed on any rolls, she was born in Alabama, and she married a Quinton. I have not gotten to far in the QUINTON info so this leaves me hanging. ANY, ANY, help or suggestions are wanted and greatly appreciated. I am interested in information on Reverend John White, known as the "Patriarch of Dorchester", a Puritan Minister that was involved in the extablishent of a fishery and planter enterprise in the area known as Cape Ann, MA, in the early 1600s. Supposedly, John's daughter married Reverend John Wesley, founder of the Methodist movement. My ancestors of the Cape Ann settlemnent was Thomas Gardner who married Elizabeth White. Elizabeth is believed to be in some way related to the Rev. John White, but I have not been able to find a solution to this question....... Thanks for any help......Richard

Just so you know you are still passing on the virus, I just got it with your posting to the list, I never opened the file, but it is there. Judy Research tools made to be used: AccessGenealogy.com - http://www.accessgenealogy.com Discover Genealogy WebRings - http://www.accessgenealogy.com/rings
Hi Everyone! Again I am so sorry for all the inconvience I caused everyone! Thank you so much for everyone who helped me so much. If anyone picked up the virus Go to the Norton sight http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/prettypark.worm.html , print out their directions, and follow them step by step. Make sure you have deleted the Pretty Park folder from your e-mail inbox folder and the delete folder. If you absolutely cannot find it no matter how hard you try, don't be as stupid as I was and keep on bothering everyone trying to find it, do a find file and if they tell you there is no such file in your system just THANK GOD it's gone. Then restart your computer and do a find file and if they tell you there is no 32vxd file, don't call DELL and bother them, like I did. Just say another THANK YOU DEAR LORD. A special thank you to Carol Gilliland who called me from Florida to tell me about me having sent the virus in the first place so I could alert all of you: to Susan Tandy who sent out e-mails to over 90 of you to alert you: to Bert Tandy; to Gus Maier; to Jean Schohm; to David L. White: to J. Russell White (by the way for anyone of our Whites, he's not a John - Mary Ann descendant) and to anyone who offered encouragement and suggestions as to just what to do and to how to contact Norton etc. By the way what do the antivirus programs do? Do they help keep you from getting the viruses or do they protect what you already have or just what? My computer came with McAfee and I upgrade it occasionally but is there a better program out there on the market that I need to buy? Please, Please I need to know so this does not happen again. Thank you. Love, Marjorie
John WHITE is probably one of the most common names to try to find on a list like this, but I would like to find out when and where he was born. This particular John WHITE was probably born in Youngstown, Ohio, or somewhere close to it in 1819. His parents were William WHITE and Eleanor FARRELL. His family moved to Mercer County, Pennsylvania, where he married Sarah SCRIVEN about 1850. I would like to find that date and place as well as his birth. I am aware of 7 children: William, David, Mary, Lora (Laura), Alice, Clara, and Miles. Many died as infants, and some died before ever marrying. Alice is believed to have been married to a J. C. CHESS. John died 21 Aug 1893, probably in Sandy Creek, Mercer, Pennsylvania, and he is buried in the Sheakleyville, PA, cemetery. Sarah died in Sandy Creek on 25 Jul 1917 and is buried beside her husband. If anyone has information on John's birth and/or marriage, please contact me off-list. Ed Scriven
I realize there must be thousands of people searching for family with the WHITE surname, so this may be a shot in the dark, but I need to try. I am trying to find when and where a grand uncle of my wife died. The name is Alvin Gates WHITE, and he was born 6 Dec 1879 in Norwalk, Huron, Ohio. His parents were Alvin Clark WHITE and Brosia MUNSON. He married Martha Marea Louise BERGENER on 14 Mar 1904 in Ogden, Weber, Utah. They lived in Utah only briefly and then returned to Ohio. They had 3 children. Gertrude who was born in 1907 and married a Mr. THOMPSON, 1st initial C., and then a Charles SNYDER. Alvin Gates, Jr., who was born in 1910 and married Hilda CRISS. A third child, Margaret was born about 1915, but I do not have further information on her. At some point Alvin and Martha were divorced. I know she died in 1930 in Hanoverton, Columbiana, Ohio, but I do not know when or where he died. I believe it would be after 1939, but that is not certain. If anyone is related to this man and has information, please contact me off-list. Thanks in advance, Ed Scriven
