Coleen, I don't know anything about your William, but I'll try to help with the counties. Augusta and Shenandoah seem to be the closest together. Rockingham seperates the two counties but this county was formed in 1778, from Augusta, so I would say that at one time Augusta and Shenandoah were next to each other. Augusta was formed 1738-45 from Orange Co., Lunenburg was formed in 1746 from Brunswick Co., Montgomery was formed in 1776-7, from Fincastle, Botetourt, and Pulaski, and Shenandoah was formed 1772, from Frederick Co. I hope that this helps. I used the Handy Book for Genealogists for the information. Jean M.

PLEASE! I put this information on the WHITE-L in TWO PARTS on Monday. I ask all of you NICELY to look at the emails a little closer, and out of consiteration for both the server and me, and the WHITE list, try to find it on the list. I regret opening this can of worms with my good intentions, as I have been swamped with emails, and too many of them not sent privately, but bogging up the list. I did not have a "LETTER" as so many of you seemed to think....it was just a letter from another list, telling about a book that is now available explaining how to research Eastern Ky. Chapter 13 listed this feud. Since this was all new information to me, I thought it might be of some evidence to those people researching in Ky area. I will give the address below on that book one last time.......Thanks for your consideration, Jean mccoy@gvtc.com Book is 169 pages long, full-name index, soft cover, spiral bound. Sells for $25.00 including shipping and handling. Priority mail $3.00 extra. KY residents - 6% sales tax. It will be available April 1st. You may order directly from me, address in my signature line - checks or money orders only. If you have questions, please email me! Thanks so much! Sandi Col.
