    3. Hello Gale: I have a James Rogers White born in Ky who is the son of George White and Nancy Rogers. I show George born in 1780 and Nancy born in 1776. I do not have a birthdate for James however I show him to be the youngest child and the other two were born in 1806 and 1810. ----- Original Message ----- From: Gale S. <magnoyla@hotmail.com> To: <WHITE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, April 20, 2000 2:20 PM Subject: Re: [WHITE] Elisha, Robert, George White VA > KY > I am looking for White family in KY. > > My James White was born about 1822 in Kentucky. Pa. Library site (www.ecls.lib.pa.us) which has a number of searches, including the Penn State Library. Anyway, I now have a list of source books to take in for the inter-library loan program. You need a library card to access the POWER LIBRARY, but it is well worth it! 1. Re: [WHITE] Elisha, Robert, George White VA > KY
    2. To Jane, I am glad to hear from you. The Elijah White you refer to may be the son or grandson of Elijah White that I have notes on. Then too, my notes may not be accurate. I show Capt. Elijah White of Hanover, County, Va. served in the militia in the Revolutionary War. His will of 1781 lists 2 daughters: Nancy who married David Cavenah in Sept, 1821, and Rebecca who married Enoch Walker in Oct 1821. Elijah was married to Mary, who wrote a letter to the Va. govenor askiing that son Robert be pardoned fines for failing to appear for muster. Robert was married to Elizabeth who I think was from Kent, England. Their son George, the first White to come to Caldwell County and who is my great great grandfather married Lucy Anderson Jackson, daughter of Major Charles Jackson. Lucy White's will of 1818 listed her only living child as Katherine White Jackson, wife of John Jackson. George White who attested to his father Robert's will stated that Emma, his daughter and his wife Lucy's brother Thomas Jackson owned bordering properties. So I think my line goes as so: Elijah(Hanover Co. Va) ca 1725, Robert(Va came to Bourbon Co. Ky) ca 1750, George 1777-1853, John Nelson 1825-1909, Robert Wylie 1865-1955, Shellie Edwin 1892-1972 and then me born 1921, our son Dan born 1947 and his son Johnnie born 1980. I will be so pleased to hear from you again and glad to share any other notes that I may have. Dorothy White Harkins

    1. [WHITE] WHITEs in AR & MO
    2. SKYEAGLE
    3. While doing my mainline research I've come across 3 different WHITEs and don't know exactly how they all fit together, here's all I know of them: Nora WHITE m. Nolen Grafton (Buck) HOUSEHOLDER. Last known residence for Nora was Clay Co, AR. Rev. Robert (Bob) WHITE - he is said to have been Nora's dad. He was in the Clay Co, AR area in 1941. I know this as he was there when my grandfather died. Floyd WHITE was in Nimmous, Clay Co, AR on June 26, 1926. He was the informant on my Aunt's death certificate. My aunt died at the age of 26 days, her parents were Elbert Lee (Jack) & Laurenia (Flossie) (nee: MARTIN) HOUSEHOLDER. I would like to find out if the 2 WHITE men were related to Nora, and just how. Also, why would Floyd fill out the d/c for my Aunt if he was not a relative of some kind? Any help with this would be appreciated, Skyeagle ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ @-->-- National Domestic Violence Hot Line(1-800-799-SAFE) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "If you cannot get rid of the family skeleton, you may as well dance with it." -- George Bernard Shaw

    3. Hello. Many thanks for your reply. You say your husband descends from Paul and Mary White, who were in Morgan Co., MO ca 1840. My line comes through Paul's daughter Abigail White, who married Russell Simmons in Delaware Co., OH in 1836; then through their daughter Ruth Lydia Simmons, who m. Richard Larimore Greenstreet in Cooper Co., MO in 1857. My mother was a Greenstreet. I'd love to exchange information with you on the Paul White line--or the Simmons and Greenstreet lines if they link. . Hope to hear from you soon. 3. Was someone out there researching a Willis WHITE? If so, a cousin of mine found this info in some deed abstracts: On April 20, 1837 Merit M. White and wife Judith sold to Willis White for $40, 83 acres near Cold Mountain; part of a tract of Joshua Tinsley, deceased, and to them as heirs. I would like to discuss with you the possibility of a connection with my WHITE line. Regards, Kelley

I have a James White that married a woman named CYnthia (not sure of the last name) they lived in KY and I dont know who James's father name. My James was born around 1822 in KY, at least that is what he reported on his census in 1850 in KY. I know very little about him, though. All I have is that he was listed as a 90 year old mulatto man living in Clinton Co. Ohio with his daughter in law Cynthia and her 4 children in 1870. He reports that he is from Virginia. I know you said your Nathan died in 1846, Tn., but I hardly ever see a query about a Nathan White born so long ago, so I responded. Did your Nathan ever make it to Ky., then Oh. before moving and passing away in Tn.? I've never found where or when my Nathan died.
