I am looking for any information that you might provide concerning my ggfather. I have the following information: C. (Charles, Charlie, Charley) B. (Bartley, Bartlett) White probably born SC; married Mary E. (Elmirah, Elminah) Sargent, daughter of Abraham Benson Sargent and Rachel L Burroughs. I have information concerning an Aaron Eugene White, born Aug 24, 1861, place unknown, at least one other son, Lawrence d and p unknown, Harlston, b Jun 24, 1862, place unk; and at least 4 girls, Pearl U. born 1870; Ettie b. 9-3-1868; Othella b. Aug 22, 1863; and Minnie C., born Jan 23, 1874. I have reason to believe all the girls were born in SC. I have seen tax record entries for a C. B. White in Gilmer, Upsher Co., TX for 1887 and 1878. I do know that my grandmother, Minnie, married L. B. Hart in Gilmer Feb. 21, 1894. The family would have had to have lived in Gilmer for a while prior to 1894, because L. B. met Minnie when he was her school teacher. The dates of birth of the other three girls, Harlston, and Mary E. were copied from their tombstones which are located in the Shooks Chapel Church Cemetery, just south of Sulphur Springs, Hopkins Co., TX. Any information that you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Woody Rice
Hi Group, It has been months since I put this request on the web and since I have searched and searched and no one, I mean no one seems to be tracing my line. Soooo I decided I would just run it past all of you once more. My dad, also a Wm. W. White b. 1899, had two sisters, one died at age 17, the other married twice but never wanted nor had children. I guess my only clues are going after siblings of my grandfather which I have done but so far have not found "nary" a one of them. Perhaps you all will recognize a name and be able to help me. Thanks for taking the time to read this rather lengthy request. Dottie Looking for parents of Wm. White b. 1824 PA. Married: Frances___(Rogers?) IN. 1846. 3 daughters: Caroline b. 1848 IN. Sarah b. 1850 AR., Frances Loretta b. 1852 MO. Second time Wm. married was to: Mary Ann (Polly Ann) Williams in1857 Lawrence Co. MO. Their children all born and raised in Greene Co., Springfield, MO.: George Walter, Mabel (May), Dora, Edwin (my grandfather), Charles-disappeared 1910, Elsie, Melvin, Ernest, H.A. ,William and Lulu. Census records say Wm.'s father b. in Md. mother in Mass. Dottie bildotcslr@murrieta.net

Another marriage showing up on York list I believe from Ga is: Annie Lou York, 1905, mar Albert Newton White. I do know that some Yorks, Whites, and several other families left the Hawkins Co, Tn or Jefferson Co, Tn area and went to Ga together. Jean mccoy@gvtc.com
On my YORK list, I received four full pages of YORK marriages, (I wish someone could do this for the WHITE line!). Below are York and White Marriages. Deborah York mar Nathan White 21, Sep 1820 (mine-believe correct date is 1821). in Lawrence Co, Ala A.J. York mar B.R. White, 16 April, 1861 in Clarke Co, Ala John J. York mar Mary J White 11 Oct 1865, Clarke Co, Ala Mary E. York mar Josiah White 9 Jan 1873 in Clarke Co, Ala N.E. York (bride) mar J.H. White 8 Feb 1881 in Clarke Co, Ala There is also a slew of Lentz' married to Yorks. Would like to compare notes with anyne having any of these names. Jean mccoy@gvtc.com
Sharon, Thanks BUNCHES! I do have some of it listed, but most of it I do not!! Getting it all together in ONE LIST certainly makes it trace the OTHER Absalom's. Mine was on 1830 Limestone Co, Ala census, he was also the one who married Phebey in NC, but he died in 1831 in Limestone Co. I do know he had an Uncle and perhaps a cousin or two named Absalom, and maybe this will help sort them out! The kind of information one loves to find on a List! no everyone lives a long way away
Angel, take the dates you do know, try to get birth, marriage and death certificates on them, If you know where they died and are buried try for obituaries in the local newspapers. What church did they belong? Check to see if they have any information, some churches keep more information on their parrishers than others. Try close neighbors, if any are still living that knew your family, maybe they remember something told to them years ago. Angel, I know how frustrating it can be without family to double check for information. But don't let it get to you!! When I started this, I knew very little, and within 4 months time, I have had 4 distant family members respond. Post you queries on every ancestry location you can. Check into military records, ask any and all living family members. Sometimes a small bit of information given to them will trigger more information. But, above all, don't despair!! It takes time and patience. There are a lot of good people out there that are willing to share any information they find. Good luck and happy hunting! Another White descendant Kathy
