Dear Sharon & Ed- I'm sorry if my first message came across as 'snotty'. Myself and others have tried, in a very nice manner in the past, to convey the message that many of us have no clue as to what these mysterious subject lines mean. That didn't seem to work. I'm glad I'm finally getting some response. I receive between 80-100 messages a day! I don't want to miss a message that may pertain to a lost relative anymore than you do. But to be forced to read messages with virtually no info in the subject line gets to be a drag. So I agree that it is always a good rule of thumb to treat others as you would wish to be treated... and I think that should include the fact that most people would prefer a real subject in spot where it was meant to be. Thanks for the attention to this. I'm not a mean guy, just busy!!! Hello, I am trying to find the parents and siblings of my Great Grandfather Samuel Walkover White b. abt 1811 in Co.Cork, Ireland, came to America when he was an infant or small child. I have found him in the 1850 census in Allegheny Co. PA with wife Mary Ann Halstead and 3 children. They had 2 more children and Mary Ann died between 1856-1857. Samuel married my Great Grandmother Anna Rebecca Baer Mullet abt 1858 they had 2 daughters. They lived in Petrolia, Butler Co. PA he died October 9, 1886. Any help finding information on these people would be most appreciated. Sammy ACREE Ehrnman

The following is an excerpt from the Ancestry.com newsletter and if you haven't tried this yet, give it a go! It's great (there are 321 hits for White) and can be copied beautifully onto Excel. I found some family and I bet a lot of others will too. I hope! It's a free search for 10 days. Evelyn Quote U.S. HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVE PRIVATE CLAIMS, VOL. 3 Responsible for the allocation of federal funds, the United States Congress received thousands of claims for money, land, or aid in the first seventy-five years of the Union. This database is the third volume of claims to the House of Representatives in the early nineteenth century. It contains a variety of claims, including applications for pension benefits, compensation for services provided to the government, land, and change in pension benefits. Each entry provides the claimant's name, the nature of the claim, and what action was taken by the House. In some entries, a residence is listed. Although most of the records are for claims in the first half of the nineteenth century, a few can be found from 1799. Including the names of nearly 20,700 men and women, this can be a useful source of information to researchers of early Americans. Thanks for your reply Chris, George was born 12/24/1855 in Escambia Co., Florida, so he was 28 when they married, there is some connection with Miles, I think the clues are all around me, at least all around the cemetery anyway.
