I have no idea whether this would help you or not...the dates are inconsistant..but since names are rather unique, it could be a lead somewhere. I have a John Dennis White, and his wife, Lucinda Leann Upchurch (she was born 1837 Ky) did 1904 in Overton Co, Tn.which is where the White line from Loudoun Co, Va settled. They had a son named Wolford White (which usually means he was named AFTER someone kin!) This Wolford mar a Mary Jane Robbins and they had a son Albert H White. John Dennis White was the son of William G White and Nancy Dennis (she wasborn 1805). and Wm G White was the son of Samuel White b 1780 in Loudoun Co, Va. I have no Renford or Buford data. Joan, I read your information with great interest. My great-grandfather was Alexander White born in Illinois in 1803. We have no information on him until 1859 when he comes to Oakville, Live Oak County, Texas. He is already 46 years old. He is married to Nancy Caroline Reeves who has two children by a previous marriage. While in Oakville Alexander and Nancy have one son, Benjamin Franklin, and then twins John Donelson and Wiley Frazier. They travel through Texas and have a daughter Amanda in Coleman County, Texas, and finally settle in Coryell County, Texas and have another daughter, Mary. Alex died in 1875 and is buried in the Coffey Cemetery in Coryell County. Your genealogy is the first White line I have seen with the name of Alexander passed on from generation to generation. Could my Alexander be from your line? We do not know who Alexander's father or mother were. He has been our brick wall. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Hello Anna & Listers: I have not been able to get my g.g.grandfather, Burgess White, past Alabama. By the Census records they came from South Carolina. In the 1830 Walker County, Alabama Census, three Whites were living close. Jephthah, b. 1805, S.C. Elbert, b. 1806, S.C. Burgess, b. 12-25-1808, S.C. I haven't found Jephthah after 1830. Burgess married Nancy Calvert, and they stayed and raised their family in Alabama. Elbert married Eunice Calvert, who was a sister to Nancy. Elbert and Eunice lived in Walker/Blount counties Alabama until abt. 1842, their first 9 kids were born there. They moved to McNairy County, Tennessee before 1843, lived there about 10 years, 4 or 5 kids were born in Tn. They were in Polk County, Arkansas by 1855, and their last one or two kids were born there, for a total of 15. They were in Polk county in 1860 census, and most of the kids were still at home including James, 22, and John, 14. Some of this family later moved to the Indian Territory,where Oklahoma is now. I found White families in South Carolina in the late 1700s, but can't connect mine yet. Hello all. I've been down with a virus. Yes, the Love Virus got me too. It cleaned my address book and ALL my e-mail files. I got it practically before the world knew it existed. If I have promised you any ancestral information, please e-mail me again and remind me. I am still looking for ANY information regarding C. B. White d/pob unk. Married Mary E. Sargent, probably in SC adout 1860. C. B. and Mary had at least 3 sons and 4 daughters, most, if not all of which were apparently born in SC. C. B. and Mary migrated to the vicinity of Gilmer, Upsher Co., TX in approximately the 1880's. My grandmother, Minnie, born Jan 23, 1874 in SC, married her school teacher in Gilmer Feb 21, 1894. A C. B. White appears on the Upsher County tax rolls for 1887 and 1888. I have found no death certificate nor do I know the place of burial for C. B. Mary is buried in Sulphur Springs, Hopkins Co., TX-dod Jan 10, 1930. Three of her daughters and one son are also buried near her. My mother, born in 1902 used to talk about her, but never mentioned C. B. so I am assuming that he died before 1905. Any information would be appreciated. Woody Rice
