Hi, Not only the locals, but us out of towners who grew up there also use those phrases.
Lynda, My White's come out of Virginia, Mecklenberg Co. area and moved aaround in VA for a while, then my direct line ended up in Central and Western Kentucky. I only know of one daughter of the William White I've gone back to that went, supposedly to Radison, Alabama. It wouldn't surprise me if somewhere along the line the two might be related because of the name Larkin. It is kind of unusual. The first Larkin White I have was born ca. 1768 in Mecklenberg Co., VA. This particular Larkin is not in my direct line, so I don't really have much info on him. There is a grandson of William White that is a Larkin that is in my direct line. This second Larkin was born 6/19/1797 in Mecklenberg Co., VA, and died 7/13/1854 in Henderson Co., KY. Right now, I don't see any connection, but your Larkin caught my eye because of the name also being in my line. Hello, White listers. I need help. I've tried almost every trick I know. My gggreat grandfarther was Gaberiel White, who was born in Morgan CO., GA in 1798. He married Virginia Taylor, born there in 1805. I would like information on their parents, ancestors. We know Gaberiel's father was James Wgite, born in S.C. (date unknown, but probably about 1770-75).James married Hannah Hughey on 8 Dec. 1822 (from Book of GA Marriages). We know James' father was named Joseph, and that he lived in S.C. We know this becasue Joseph gave three slaves to his son, James, in Morgan Co. (We have a recortd of this.) However, that's all we know of Joseph. James was probably born about 1775. So his father, Joseph, must have been born about 1750- 55. I have no indication where, or who his parents were. Can anybody on the list help me? It would be appriciated. Bill Mitchell

Hi again All!, Do to a pricing error by one of the Volunteers (not me thank heavens,LOL!) The price on the Sipe book "The Indian Wars Of Pennsylvania" is $34.95 +tax and shipping & not $30.00 including as I had previously posted. Hi all, I have a small book in which my paternal great grandmother has hand written in ink all she knew about the ancestors of her children and grandchildren. She was Rhoda BRANCH, b. 1863 York State d 1915 m. 1880 Saginaw, Mich Joseph WHITE b. 1853 Quebec Canada d. 1922. They had 3 sons & 3 daughters, twin boys (Roy & Ray). Joseph's father was Thomas (Tomes) WHITE b. 1822 Galway, Ireland d. 1897 Saginaw Mich. m. Canada Eliza SMITH b. 1830 Ireland d 1896 Saginaw Mich. They had 10 children. Thomas father was James b. abt 1800 Ireland m. Nancy SCOT b. Ireland. James father was Templeton WHITE born in Scotland abt. 1780. Is anybody searching for this family? Does anybody have any clue as to what part of Scotland Templeton may have come from? There was a WHITE who was King of Scots, Hugh the White 748 and Willie the White abt 1330. So are there WHITEs all over Scotland? How should I go about searching for Templeton? Thanks, Helen
