I am a descendant of Walter R White of England, son of George. Walter was the only child that came to America and stayed. I have heard that one of George's sister or brother or their children had went to Australia, but I am unsure which one. I would be glad to hear if anyone has any information on this family. A very historical and noted old church and my father lived there till all his son's had gone except my brother Fred (who has now passed away) and he grew to old to manage a business: George White, your fathers grandfather. I have French ancestors named Le Blanc who fled to the Netherlands in 1685 and later changed their name to De Witt, others went to Ireland and changed their name to White. Bea, That old address was mine. I was posting to see if anyone else was searching that line of White's. I descend from the William married to Frances Greenwood. I got most of that info from the Morman web site. This is all the info that I have. I am researching just William's line at this time, but so far have not been able to find much of anything on either William. I have no further info on any of William's siblings. My DAR records say he served from VA, the Continental Line, Spotsylvania Co VA. However, another record (a newspaper article) says he went to GA before the war and served from there. Hey Y'all, Yep, I still wish I could find out for sure who the parents/line of my 5th or 6th great grandfather Col. Henry White was, and when they came over from Britain and from whence? I have been told that his father was Joseph White, but have no proof. All I do know for sure is from me back to him, which a lot of it came from my grandmother, her father, and a cousin in S.C. where the our White line settled, Mrs. R. L. Brooks (Della White). My great grandfather Rev. Wm. Henry White wrote that two brothers came from England in the early 1700s and one settled in Va and the other in S.C., he becoming Col. Henry White. But in my research I have found that Col. White lived in Orange Co., Va. for a while and that is where most of his kids were born, then he migrated to S.C. and settled in the Spartanburg area. If anyone has any info on this it would be greatly appreciated.
