Many die hard Englishmen would not condone ignoring the King of England's orders. Found this ancestry.com Stephen White born May 17, 1818 Nova Scotia, location- Halifax City, Ward 6, listed as father in law in household. Film T-6451 page 18, Division 2, entry no 6, family no 158, census year 1901- he was no doubt a widower. Cornwallis arrived in what is now Halifax City on 21 June 1749 and began a settlement. A fishery or manufacturing materials that were imported from Boston. Engineer John Bruce mapped out the town's first settlers which included; Hollis, Barrington, Argyle and Grafton. During the first winter, one third of the original settlers were stricken by disease due to poor diets and Yankee's already accustomed to pioneer life took their place. Halifax later became important for the British Empire. Gen. James Wolfe launched from Halifax when the Battle of Louisburg in 1758 took off, and also in 1759 when he conquered the French Capital at Quebec. Halifax became an important base of operations. Hi lists, I am looking for any information on Charles Frost White. He was the father of Hariet Ann White (she born 1845 d 1928) who was married to Nathan Hall Herrick (b about 1837 to 1898). Nathan and harriet had a son (number 3) named Charles Frost Herrick (1867 to 1948) , but i am looking for Harriet's father dates unk He was married to Hannah Madox Keen (i believe from Mass.or N.H.) I would like to know where and when he was born and his parents names as well, and if he was the one who was shipwrecked and if so, off what coast, name of ship and dates. That sure is a lot to ask, but if any of the information here helps in any way to pinpoint him, it could be well worth it. My grandmother (Emma Irene Rosalee (Herrick) Holt claimed that she had a Danish sea captain in the family. Unfortunately i was very young when she mentioned it and i never asked any questions being a bit afraid of her, as she was a gruff sounding person. The only info i have about Charles Frost White was that a census said he was born in england. However as censu reports go , we all know how things can be written down wrong, depending on accents, who is giving the info and how the question was understood. I'm looking for my ancestor, Westley W. White, who was married in Crittenden Co., Ky. on 2-22-1845. He married again in Livingston Co., Ky. on 2-14-1857 in Livingston Co., Ky. One census record says he was born in Maryland, another one says Kentucky. He had at least one daughter named Henrietta who married Peter Holder. We have several rolls of photos of tombstones of Whites from the Springdale Cemetery, Madison, IN. These date back to 1812, and were taken by my 11 year old grandson, who was so excited about finding some of "our" family that his mother didn't want to discourage him. Leonard White Leonard O. White, 92, of Bremerton died March 1, 1999, in Bremerton. He was born July 31, 1906, in Clark County, Ala., to William W. and Nanny (Morris) White. He was raised in Walker Springs, Ala. He served in the Army from 1942 to 1944 as a medic. Mr. White was a self-employed farmer, retiring in 1996. Survivors include a son, Leonard O. White Jr. of Crosby, Texas; a daughter, Mary Lou Moyer of Belfair; two sisters, Marie Hopkins of Spanish Fort, Ala., and Margaret Langdon of Metaririe, La.; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
