Does anyone recognize a George Whitaker who immigrated in 1900 and settled in Salem, Oregon? Yesterday while looking through the Passenger & Immigration List Index, 1997 Supplement, I found the following: Whitaker, George, (57), Salem, Oregon, 1900, 4875.1, page 54. If he was 57 in 1900, then he would have been born about 1843 which matches him as a possible sibling to my ggrandfather, Robert Whitaker, who came over in 1872 and went to Illinois.
