I would most like to contact descendants of Eliphalet Whitaker b. 1732 in Huntington, Long Island, New York who eventually moved to Georgia c. 1788. He married Ruth Bailes and his children were: 1. Samuel Whitaker b. 26 November 1756 in New Jersey d.1818 in Indiana. Did not go with the family to Georgia. m. Mary Rivers. 2. Elizabeth Whitaker b. 1758 in New Jersey m. Wm. Roy, Richard Hall. Did not go to Georgia. 3.Phoebe Whitaker b. 1760 4.Platt Whitaker b. 1762 in N.J. m. Ann Bayles. Platt lived in Havre de Grace Maryland, and died in Zanesville, Ohio 5.Benjamin Whitaker b. 17 March 1765 N.J. d. 18 August 1821 in Jefferson Co., Ga. married Ann Emanuel daughter of Gov. David Emanuel. (my line) 6.Mary Whitaker b. 5 August 1767 died 10 August 1825 7.Nancy Whitaker b. 30 July 1769 d. 10 September 1823 8.Sarah Whitaker b. 1772 married Hugh Lawson, Robert Glenn d. Unknown in GA. 9.Nathaniel Whitaker b.15 Feb. 1775 d. Unknown 10.Daniel Whitaker b.14 May 1778 d. Unknown It was said that Daniel and Nathaniel went to S.C. and that one died in Louisiana, unmarried. 11 Ruth Whitaker b. August N.J. d. Unknown. I descend from Colonel Benjamin Whitaker and Ann Emanuel. Of their three sons, only one had male descendants - my gr. gr. grandfather Eli Daniel Whitaker who went to Taladega Co., Alabama c. 1840 and died there c. 1852. He married (1) Amelia Jane McCullars and (2) Elizabeth Watters. My gr. grandfather William Watters Whitaker brought his family to Cherokee Co., Texas in 1871.
