Hi, My maiden name is Whittaker. My mother and father were divorced when I was 2 years old and we have not seen my father since. My mother died when I was young, so there was no one around to tell me about my father or his family. Now I am researching my family tree. I have lots of info on my mother's side, but of course nothing on my father's. I have a feeling that he died a few years after my mother did, because Social Security tried to contact my mother. When they found out that she was dead and my younger sister and I were collecting benefits from her, they said that we were already getting the maximum. They would not tell us why they were inquiring. The only information I have on him is what is on my Birth Certificate. His name is Charles Herbert Whittaker. He was born in Princeton, West Virginia about 1915. At the time of my birth, he was living in Baltimore, Maryland and his occupation is listed as a Trucker for Penn. Railroad. My mother's name was Helen Erma Ricks. My name is Virginia Marie Whittaker and my younger sister is Barbara Sue Whittaker. I am sorry for the lenght of this e-mail, but if anyone thinks that they can help me, I would love to hear from them.
