My line is the line of Jonathan Whitaker b. 1690 who was in Long Island and then moved to Somerset Co., N.J. I descend from his son Eliphalet who took his family from N.J. to PA then to Maryland briefly and on to Burke Co., GA. My Whitakers came to TX from AL about 1871 (Cherokee Co.). Some of the children of Jonathan, Jr. went to Texas much before my line did.
