My ggrandfather, Robert Whitaker, came to the States from England in 1872. I do not know the name of the ship, when exactly in 72, or which port the ship landed at (Boston, NY,?). My question is: How do I go about finding this information and getting emigration data? I've checked all the ship sites I can find on the web or in books, etc. I've not found one listed that his name is on. Any suggestions? Once I have the ship, port information; how do I go about getting emigration data?
