Hi Joyce..like Mike I am researching the same Whitaker.. (Whittaker) line think John Whitaker and wife Thankful Pierce lived in Groton a while (or the area..Shirley andPepperell and even parts of N.H. went back and forth)since two sons were born there.. John and David..before they moved to Mason.The information I have from a Groton lookup source is that John Sr. was born in Stow MA May 26, 1713 and married a Lydia Davis. His father, another John ,died in Stow May 7, 1705..his wife was Hannah Ball.How close is Stow to you? Any chance you might get there?
