Hi, Just thought I'd spread the word that my mother bought a computer & will be on-line soon. She is descended from Whitaker's of Appomattox, Va. Maybe I can convince her to subscribe to the Whitaker Roots-L list. I'm she she knows more about our Whitaker line than I do. Eileen just sent me a wonderful photo of the Whitakers. Mom said that Ada Whitaker (in the photo) was mother to Mom's cousin, Virginia Parrish Odom, who is still alive. I'm excited to be able to send her a copy of the photo. Our Whitaker's descend from Elvira Susan Furbush & John Whitaker. I remember there are a few friends on the Whitaker roots-L list who gave me some info. a long time ago on our Whitaker line. I'd like to say "Thanks again." Having my mom on-line (soon) is reviving my interest to learn more about our Whitakers. By the way, my older brother is in contact w/me via e-mail again. (Hadn't heard from him since my marriage 9 years ago.) He has a passionate interest in the Civil War, so anything anyone can tell me about our Whitaker's and their part in the Civil War will be most appreciated.
