I have just begun my Whitaker research. I am looking for a William B. Whitaker, born around 1845, Clarksville, Montgomery Cty, TN. He married Annis Lauretta Penny in 1871 in Madison, Co., IL. Children of this marriage include: Harry Wilson Whitaker (1872-1926); Emma Gertrude Whitaker (1874-1886); Walter Edwards Whitaker (1881-1942); and Ralph McKeague Whitaker (1888-1939). Walter is my ancestor. He and his wife Clara Belle Hatfield lived in St. Louis, MO about 1900 to 1915. Do any of you have Whitakers in Tennessee, who probably fought in the Civil War and later moved west into Illinois? Would like to hear from you. Thank you, PJohnson
