I am looking for a connection to a James Degroff Whitaker b 1842 in PA according to 1900 census. His father also born in PA, mother in NY. He served in the Civil war out of Saratoga Springs, NY. He married Lydia J. Kelley in Marshall Co., Indiana in 1883. Then they went to Nebraska and then to Ill. About 1899 they then homesteaded in Mecosta Co., Michigan. Any info before 1842 would be greatly appreciated. Margie
