I'm a descendant of John Whitaker (~1740-1823), who had three wives. The first two were Elizabeth Hardy and Ferebee (Pheriba) Pearson. My information is that I'm descended from the Hardy marriage: does anyone have any documentation on that marriage? (It's in the Patriot Index and I've seen it in a marriage, but I haven't seen any *documentation* on it.) (I don't live anywhere near Raleigh.) My descent from John Whitaker is through his oldest(?) son, Hugh Hardy Whitaker (1765-1849), who moved to the Pendleton District around 1800 with his wife, Polly Perry, and her family.
