Think our James and Elijah whitaker comes from Germany. ( at least his wife said so on his death record) any idea where I need to look in Germany for Whitaker families. time about 1790 to 1820 ( 1820 Dearborn co. Ind. was first census we find then in USA. Elijah was born about 1811 and wife Mary (sharp)said he was born in "Germany". he died at only 26 yr old. in Danville Ill.
