Many thanks for your reply. I am afraid I cannot say whether we are connected to a Claude Whitaker. At this stage that name is not familiar and has not appeared in any family tree but that does not mean we are not connected Thomas Whitaker is the earliest information I have and can't seem to get back any further than 1821. I would really like to know who his parents were.
