I'm trying to find out what happened to the many siblings that my g-grandfather, Robert Whittaker, had. First, the spelling of the surname was changed for Robert when he came to the U.S. His family is WHITAKER originally (one T). ========= James Whitaker m. Mary Pinder 5/14/1833 and they had 11 children, all born in Dorrington, Lincolnshire, England. Son #10, Robert (b. 5/1852, Dorrington, Lincolnshire, Eng.) m. Carrie Elizabeth Love in DeKalb County, ILL. Looking for what happened to the other 9 children (one died as child). John b. 1836, James b. 1838, Mary b.1842, Charles b. 1844, William b. 1846, George b. 1848, Thomas b. 1850, Matthew b. 1853. Did any come to the U.S. besides Robert? ========== Progress is slow but I've managed to find out about Robert's family pretty well. Dates and places at least, not alot of personal details yet. But I figure with all those siblings, a couple more had to have come to the U.S. I do know that in Oct. 1912 when Robert died James, Charles, William, Matthew and Mary were still alive but the obituary did not say where. If anyone recognizes a name and date, please let me know.
