Back in July, I posted this to the NCSURRY list. Someone from the WHITAKER-L list posed a question about a Wesley WHITAKER and Pearl LANKFORD. I don't have a record of my posting to the WHITAKER list, so here it is now. I recalled I had collected information on some with these names and sent in the following information. They are buried at a private cemetery referred to as the Johnson Cemetery on private land located on SR 2038, 1.3 m. N of Hwy. 268 West, Ararat Community, Surry County, NC (this is west of Pilot Mountain): Whitaker, Albert L, b. 1878, d. 1857 Whitaker, Ellen Jennifer, b. 1884, d. 1-17-1967 Whitaker, Harvey G., b. 1919, d. 1986 Whitaker, Jennie L., b. 1883, d. 1967 Whitaker, Lillie E, b. 7-19-1883, d. 2-4-1963 Whitaker, Pearl, b. 8-1911, d. 1977 Whitaker, Seavada E, b. 1907, d. 11-6-1994 Whitaker, Wesley T, b. 2-15-1909, d. 7-24-1934 I don't have any other information on these WHITAKER ancestors or the JOHNSON people that is supposedly the land owners from years ago. If anyone knows of these WHITAKER lines and/or JOHNSON lines, would appreciate a reply. I do have some photos that I took of the grave markers, in case others are interested.
