My Abraham Isaac Whitaker was b. ca 1732 in Balt. Co., Md. and removed to Orange Co., NC, very near Rowan, and d. in 1808. This family had 1800's marital tie to Rowan. My 3rd great grandmother was b. in current Davidson Co., NC, and her father in old Rowan (didn't move, to my knowledge) and married and d. in Orange. She wasn't a Whitaker but m. my Whitaker in Orange. We have always been curious how the two met. Maybe my Orange Co. Whitaker was visiting his cousin?, your Rowan Whitaker?? I was b. in Orange.
