Hi Cousin Joyce! My ggrandfather was Henry Martin Whitaker (brother of Frances). I guess that would make us third cousins once removed! As for the Cherokee connection, My Dad always said he was 1/16 Cherokee. That would make Frances and Henry 1/4--if it came through that line. My Dad never said where it came from and at the time, I guess I didn't care. Next time I see my uncles, I will see if they know any more. I hope to get serious about this search soon. I have been in grad school and didn't have time to do the research. As soon as I find a job, I will work some of this into my schedule. Would write more now but have to get ready for church.
