Hi Listers, I'm new to the list & thought I'd post my interest. Thomas Whitaker, born about 1839/1840 in Barnsley, Yorkshire, England. Thomas died in Shoalhaven River, NSW, Australia, aged 33 on 19/12/1873 in a mine collapse. He married Mary Ann Hardy on 11/4 /1873, & they had only one child: Mary Jane (known as Jane) (1874-1904). On 19/10/1874 Mary Ann's second married was to George James Lester, & they had the following children: Elizabeth, Sarah, George Henry, Katherine, Amy, James, & William.
