Here is the information I have on my paternal 2nd great grand uncle Lewis WHITAKER who was born Abt. 1838 in Coshocton County Ohio (Source: 1850 Census for Bedford, Coshocton County Ohio), and d. on March 7, 1890. An obituary was obtained from Deaths: Coshocton County Ohio 1867-1909 which is an obituary index for that period. This index was compiled by Mrs. Hilda Grace McPherson in 1976. This obituary lists a Lewis WHITAKER as having died on March 7, 1890. A copy of the County Death Record for Coshocton County, Ohio lists a Lewis Whitaker as having died as a result of "suicide while insane." This Lewis Whitaker's place of birth is listed as Bedford Township, Coshocton County Ohio, and his age as 51. Lewis WHITAKER is the fourth son of Rubin Barker WHITAKER (Sr.) b. abt. 1800 in New Jersey. (Source: 1850 Census for Bedford, Coshocton County Ohio), and d. April 11, 1868 in Jefferson Township, Coshocton County, Ohio (Source: Historical Collections of Coshocton County Ohio: A Complete Panorama of the County, From the Time of the Earliest Known Occupants of the Territory Unto the Present Time. Whittaker, for more than forty years a resident ot Coshocton County, died on his farm, in Jefferson Township, on the 11th day of April, 1868, in the sixty-eighth year of his age." February 24, 1841 in Bedford, Coshocton County Ohio, d. June 10, 1921 in Northeast, Cecil County, Maryland. Rubin Barker Whitaker (Jr.) is my paternal 2nd great grand father, and would appreciate any information you may have on this line. I have been at a dead end with Rubin B.
