I don't know anything about this line, but they're possible offshoots from the line that migrated from southeastern VA to eastern NC (e.g. present-day Edgecombe County). They're all over the Southeast now -- I'm descended from one who left the Raleigh area for Upstate SC in or shortly after 1800 -- and quite a few were early Methodists. There were a lot of Williams and Elizabeths in this line, but I'd think you might be looking for Baptists with these Biblical names. Have you checked the N.C. Marriage Bond index?
