Hi Everybody: This message is to announce that the Whitaker Family History and Genealogical Research Homepage has moved. The new URL address is: http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Park/3741/genhopg1.html with a personal index at: http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Park/3741 I know that you all have been very patient while I have been moving the site to its new home at Geocities. It has taken me since March to complete this move for a number of reasons, not the least of which is my relative lack of expertise with HTML code, and the fact that I am moving physically, myself at the end of June, and thus have been very busy packing up my home. Most of the last few weeks has been spent de-bugging the graphics on the page so they load properly. I chose a Geocities site because it's free (a major consideration!) and because I wanted a site that was not ISP dependent, as the now "old" site at http://members.aol.com/allwhit/genhopg1.html is, which means the server space at http://members.aol.com/allwhit/genhopg1.html requires that I have an account with AOL. Since the AOL browser does not work on my system, and since no one from my OEM to Microsoft Tech Support can tell me why, I have had to switch to another ISP and use Netscape as my browser. I have maintained my AOL account since March soley so that the Whitaker Family History and Genealogical Research Homepage is available to you all until I could find an alternate site. I will maintain the "old" URL for the page until the end of June, when I will be closing my AOL account for good. I am anxious to do this, since I have had to pay AOL to keep an account open that I cannot use. I will attempt to place an announcement at the "old" address, but so far, I have been unable to upload any changes through my current ISP. This is why you have not seen the page updated since March. Those of you who have sent me changes and additions to your Whitaker Research information to be posted on the page should see your changes/additions within the next couple of days at the new site, and any of you with changes to your Whitaker research information can now send them to me at [email protected] Once again, the new URL address for the Whitaker Family History and Genealogical Research Homepage is: http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Park/3741/genhopg1.html Finally, I would greatly appreciate it if you could e-mail me back and confirm that you are able to access the Whitaker Homepage at it's new address. Since the Whitaker Homepage has so many links to other researchers home pages, e-mail, and other sites, I simply cannot verify all of them.
