My notes have gotten disorganized due to two recent moves. According to Medieval records, the Whitakers of Holme apparently sent at least one son over to the Abbey of Whalley every generation during the abbey's existence. Whalley Abbey was one of those big, Cistercian, sheep-raising establishments. Elizabeth Whitaker
