It's believed that John, Rice and Joseph were brothers...no absolute proof of that tho. Gile's may have been an uncle. Not sure of Clayborn/Claiborne's relationship. It appears that the mother of John, Rice and Joseph may have been Mary Ann "Molly/Polly"Rice, who later married Eleazar Goodwin of Ohio Co., KY. No clue who their Whitaker father might have been. Richard Whiteaker of Washington Co., VA also appears to be connected in some way to this family....perhaps the brother's grandfather??? You will find the descendants of Rev. Rice W.
