Hi Listers, I'm new to the list & thought I'd post my interest. Thomas Whitaker, born about 1839/1840 in Barnsley, Yorkshire, England. Thomas died in Shoalhaven River, NSW, Australia, aged 33 on 19/12/1873 in a mine collapse. He married Mary Ann Hardy on 11/4 /1873, & they had only one child: Mary Jane (known as Jane) (1874-1904). On 19/10/1874 Mary Ann's second married was to George James Lester, & they had the following children: Elizabeth, Sarah, George Henry, Katherine, Amy, James, & William. Anyone else with Barnsley interests? Sandy in Sydney

I just received a copy of the marriage certificate for Joseph Shepherd and Mollie E Whittaker. They were married Sept 20, 1898 in Montgomery County, VA. It shows Mollie's parents as "H.C. and Eliz. Whittaker". Would anyone know anything about H.C.? What was his full name? Who was Elizabeth? Any other info on these people would be appreciated. Thanks, Glenn Ramsey
