Thanks, Janet. I appreciate the compliment for the research I did on census data on our family name in Indiana. Your kindness and encouragement has made me more eager to continue my research. As far as I know most of the websites for birth, death, marriage, deeds, census recrods have fees except the Morman site.

Does anyone have information on the WHITAKER names? Whitaker, H. F. 02-08-1853 h/o Margaret M. Whitaker Whitaker, Margaret M. w/o H. F. Whitaker (no visible dates) They are buried at Snow Hill Baptist Church, Surry County, NC. . . which is located west of Dobson. I'm trying to determine the dates of H. F. WHITAKER and his wife Margaret since their markers are laid in the ground flat and seem to have been broken. Would also like to know if they are connected (probably are) to my WHITAKER lines of Surry County, but do not have them in my db. I am looking for any information on Nancy Back I have nothing on her or who her parents are, she married Benjamine Gardner Whitaker he was born in 1868. William Whitaker married Elizabeth Betsy Clemmons. Do you know when they were married or who Elizabeth's parents were. Also I do not have any dates on Susanna Harris. She married Isaac Whitaker who was born 1778. From there on I have only pieces. I have names but not dates for anyone. Peter Whitaker Isaacs son married Amelia Bates but no dates on either or Amelia's parents. If you could help it would be great. I am now searching for the children of each set of ancestors. I'm way too new to help. But, your familys first names are reused in my tree. I was just curious if you had traced any of the Whitakers to the area around Augusta, Ga.? I know the names are common, just thought I'd ask.

My grandparents were Hobert William Whitacre (son of George Luther Whitaker/Whitacre) and India Myrtle (Jackson) daughter of Robert E. Jackson and Rebecca Helen (Spiggle), of Lantz Mills, VA. My great-grandparents were George Luther Whitaker/Whitacre and Clara M. Orndorff from Shenandoah County, VA. I have been doing research for this branch of the Whitacres for several years. I have a question about George and Clara. I was told growing up that Clara was George's second wife, and that Bessie Victoria Sine was his first wife.
