Greetings from another newcomer to this list. I am particularly interested in Dr. William WHITAKER, who was born in PA ca. 1806, married in New Orleans in 1829 and died in Mobile AL in 1870. He was listed in the census as a physician, but so far I have been unable to determine where he might have received his medical education. Dr. Whitaker's father probably was William Whitaker, a tailor who was born in Chester Co. PA ca 1770 and died in Danville PA sometime after the 1840 census. I would appreciate any further information about this line of Whitakers. Dave
