    3. I am interested in this Whitaker-Rudd connection. Asenath Ann Whitaker, sister of my Eli Daniel Whitaker, daughter of Benjamin Whitaker of Jefferson Co., Ga. married Arthur RUDD Cheatham. I wonder if my Whitakers were connected to the Rudd family before they came to Georgia. Where did Avis and Joseph Rudd live? 2. Thomas Baker
    3. Platt Whitaker appears on the 1810, 1820 and 1830 census in Maryland. John Whitaker - Harriet Myers 7/27/1822 are listed on a LDS microfilm (0014116), Marriage Licenses Harford County, MD 1774 -1886. I am researching the Whitakers of Baltimore. My gg grandfather was George W. Whitaker born abt. 1823. I believe he may be the son of Howard Whitaker who married Hannah Ruff in 1815. I am trying to link Howard to the family of Isaac & Eliz. Hill since, according to Beaumont Whitaker's article, they are the family that remained in Baltimore. Their sons were John Sweynard, Joshua, Samuel and Benjamin. Any information on them and their children would be welcomed. Marion Whitaker Baker

    2. That was a mistake, to send it before I was finished! Anyway, Thomas and Elizabeth Whitaker's children were: Nancy Ann b. 1760, m. James Holmes, Sr. Samuel b. 1762 Mary b. 1765 m. (?) Hull Elizabeth b. 1767 m. (?) Chamberlain Sarah b. 1768, m. Nicholas Brown Rachel b. 1769 m. Solomon Perrin Eli b. 1770 m. Mary Cherry Catherine b. 1772 m. James Comly Dacon b. 1775 m. Rachel Rogers Esther b. 1777 m. William Murphy Thomas was a private in the Revolution, even at his advanced age for the time. If anyone has this line or information about these people (I am particularly interested in Dacon and Rachel Rogers Whitaker; I cannot pick up their pieces anywhere) I would be most interested in exchanging info. I have much more on the Holmes, Brown and Dacon Whitaker families, but cannot tie Thomas in with previous Whitaker's yet. Help, help, help. Thanks. Susan M. [email protected]

    1. Re: WHITAKER-D Digest V98 #117
    2. I am very interested in the John Whitaker of Baltimore information that has been mentioned in the previous digest of Whitaker exchanges. My "Whitaker's" begin with Thomas Whitaker (b. 1732 possibly in Hagerstown, MD, d. 1791 Smith Twp., Western PA). His wife's name was Elizabeth ? His children were Ann (Nancy) (b. 1760, m. James Holmes, Sr.) Samuel b. 1762

    1. Re: The Whitaker Family of Baltimore County, Maryland.
    2. Hi Allen, The John & Catherine WHITAKER mentioned in the article below by Beaumont Whitaker are my seventh great grandparents. Beaumont also wrote an article about the immigration of many of the WHITAKER, HAYS and WEST families to the Monongahela River Valley (PA) in the summer of 1767. John & Catherine's grandson John, son of Charles and my fifth great grandfather, left PA in 1780 for the falls of the Ohio. Beaumont also wrote an article "John Whitaker, Kentucky's Pioneer, Baptist Preacher." My WHITAKER line was my first research and you would have thought I had found a gold mine when I found these articles. Thanks, Joan Hays Sanders In a message dated 10/30/98 11:39:03 PM EST, [email protected] writes: << Hi Everyone: It's great to see this list so busy. It has quite a lot of Genealogical information on John WHITACRE, beginning with "...a series of entries on pages 196 and 197 of the Register of St. Georges Parish (Anglican). These entries record the birth of six children of John and Catherine WHITACRE with birth dates ranging from 1687 to 1702." I'd like any additional info you might provide, including an address for your correspondent. It is likely that her source is a book by Bruce Whitaker. I've corresponded with Bruce, both before and after he published; he reached the conclusion that Joshua was a son of William and Abigail which may be true, but the evidence is weak. I want to pursue it further. 2. maxie/paul
    3. Spec means expectations Et means Even as conj and indeed occasionally adversative asin not only .FIDES means trust, confidence to be loyal word of honor. Like in a land contract of early days of this land,. A lot of contracts were by shanking hands ,nothing was written down. also your word that you would buy some land. or in an egagement and you later refuse to marry this person. You just broke a contract. some of these contacts apply today. but you might have a hard time proving it.
