List members. My name is Marc Whetsel. Several weeks ago, while trying to get information from RootsWeb regarding the WHETSEL mailing list, I was told that the list did not have a list owner and was inactive. I agreed at that time to assume responsibility for the list. I descend from Daniel Whetsel/Wetsel/Whitsal who, with his wife Elizabeth settled in Fayette County, PA around 1790. He is said to have been a cousin of Lewis Wetzel, however, I have found no proof of this. I would encourage each of you to introduce yourself to the list, tell us a little about your Whetsel/Whetzel line and possibly which ancestor(s) you are currently searching for. Because the name has so many spelling variations, I see no reason to limit ourselves to only Whetsel. All are welcome to participate. Hopefully, working together, we can assist each other. Please encourage other Whetsel/Whetzel, etc. researchers to join the list.
