One must be subscribed in Digest mode to get the Digests automatically. Digests are a series of posts to the list that come out at either a specific time or when the size of combined messages reaches a certain limit. For each email address one has one can only be subscribed under either list mode - which means each email to the list comes as one individual email to you or Digest which was described above. In the days previous to this system one could email the server for missing Digests - but not now. That's why I'm subscribed to the list, as list admin in regular and Digest modes - so that I can have Digests available for folks who request them and to make sure the Digest portion is still working.
