His name was Charles McDonald Whaley born in SC 1878. He got the bible from his dad, Walter Calhoun Whaley. I remember when I was about 10 or 12 years old (40 years ago) one of his sister's daughters or grandaughters came and borrowed the bible to make copies. It was never returned. We would really like to get it back. My father is in his late 70's now and looking at that bible with his mother and father was one of his fondest memories. I too remember the bible. It was a very honored piece of our genealogy.
