James Whaley, born Dec 10, 1750, Jefferson County, VA, died Dec 4, 1840, Meigs County, OH. Census - 1810, Charles Town, Jefferson County, VA Father: Edward Whaley (~1700-) Mother: Elizabeth Massey (could be Mapy) (->1776) Unknown first wife, widowed by age 26. Second wife was Elizabeth Page, born Dec 3, 1783, Jefferson County, VA, died Sep 29, 1853, Meigs County, OH, married Mar 6, 1808, Jefferson County, VA Children: Elizabeth (1809-), James William (1811-1896), Anne Rebecca (1814-1899), William Henry (1816-1906), Harriet (1819-), Catherine Ann (1821-), Lucretia (1823-1895), Almira (1825-1892), David Charles "D.C." (1828-1912) As you can see I do have parents listed for James, but the information I have is extremely limited. It's even possible that Edward was James' grandfather. I just don't know. You can list me under either Edward or James, whatever you think.
