    3. Many of my family went to Bourbon and Harrison County between the Revolution and the WBTS. Benjamin Whaley went to Bourbon County where he died in the 1830's. My ggrandfather James Cannon Whaley, was born there in 1835. The family intermarried with many of the locals to include Talbots and Spears. I have photographs of James, his 2nd cousin, David Moreland Whaley (b. 1822 in Pa, son of a hero of the War of 1812. David went to Texas, became a member of the legislature, raised company C of the 5th Texas Infantry, and was killed in action as a major 22 August 1862 in Virginia. I also have a period photograph of E. Clarence Whaley of South Carolina in CS uniform of the 3rd SC cavalry. The cardboard backing is 1880-ish and has E.C. Whaley's service record outlined on the back in the distinct hand of a great uncle of Uniontown, Pa. Just wish I knew who James' (1728 Loudoun County) father had been. Eventually I created a Gedcom file of everyone connected to that line! If you'd like it, I'll be glad to send it.
