The message below came in on the Whaley Message Board! Tuesday, April 04, 2000 Subject: Ruby Nelson & Jackie Weeden Posted by:Terri Parker: I wouldn't believe anything they have to say, whether in a book, on the web, or in person, if they presented me with a note from God. They're a couple of know-it-alls who don't know as much as they think they do. Our reply to the Message Board. Subject:Ruby Nelson and Jackie Weeden Posted by:Ruby L. Nelson Wednesday, April 05, 2000 Subject:Ruby Nelson and Jackie Weeden Message:To Terri Parker, etal. from Nelson and Weeden. We are completely shocked at the bitter, caustic, insulting message by Terri Parker that came out on the Message Board this morning. We don't think we have EVER had ANY contact with this person. We are in communication with a Terri WHALEY who is a descendant of Joshua Whaley and Sarah Crow and she indicates that she is happy with what we have shared with her and indicated that she is buying one of our books. I, Ruby Nelson, write for Jackie Weeden, Whaley researcher, who is not on line. I give her copies of messages and she hand writes answers. Weeden has researched ALL Whaleys for over 30 years. She has done hands-on research in many eastern and central states. She has over 50 notebooks full of Census Records, Bible records, birth, death and cemetery records, pension records, etc. of every state she could find them in. She has over 900 Family Group Sheets in her file and I am typing them onto disks and am sending them out by attachments. This is a free service. She shares pension records from her file (and she has over 300 of them) and does not charge for copies even though they cost her approximately $2000 out of her own pocket. Weeden does not put out data that is not documented. She is always willing to work with other Whaley descendants if there are any differences. So WHY is she being called names? This message from Terri Parker should NEVER have been sent out on the Message Board as it is highly improper for some disgruntled person to make disparaging remarks about a fine researcher that will help others make a poor judgment. I think an apology is needed here. Send further messages by private e-mail to [email protected] To WSP members--Well, shall we continue or call it quits???? Ruby
