Thank you for your warm welcome to the Whaley Search Party. The oldest Whaley for which I have documentation is Lewis Whaley, b. 1794 Duplin County, NC. He was the father of Durrant Green Whaley (1826-1862), parent of Lewis Merritt Whaley (1856-1910), father of my grandmother, Carrie Octavia Whaley Rouse (1883-1903).
